There are a number of good reasons for learning how to speak Italian. Skill and focus on the use of the language once it is learned will greatly affect the intensity put into learning this beautiful Romance language. If a person is going to Italy to meet the grandparents of the girl of his dream, a few courteous greetings show that they are important enough to learn some of their language. The land that is Italy covers a large area, with thousands of years of culture from ancient civilizations, including specific dialects common in certain areas. - Camp Darby – Located in Tirrenia, this Army Garrison is between Pisa and Livorno and is a part of Italy’s Tuscany Region. Both culture and history are breathtaking features, including the Leaning Tower of Pisa and a beach.
- Aviano Air Force Base – Members of the US Air Force may find themselves stationed at this beautiful base in Aviano, home to the 31st Fighter Wing. It is in Northeastern Italy and offers beautiful scenery and an unforgettable adventure.
- Caserma Ederle – located in Vicenza, the Army Garrison of Camp Ederle is the Headquarters for both the 173rd Airborne Brigade and United States Army Africa. Historic architecture and lovely hills are only part of the allure of this assignment.
- NSA Gaeta – An excellent location in Gaeta, this delightful base is between Rome and Naples. Gaeta itself is a popular summer resort, featuring green hills and ocean views.
Because military personnel are free to tour the area, knowing how to speak Italian to some degree is an advantage. Locals love to talk when they realize the visitor understands at least part of what they say and are usually very helpful with directions and recommendations of where to eat or what to see.
Other Times to Use Italian
There are a number of Italian businesses located in the United States and although you will find many of the people you deal with have learned how to speak English, it creates good rapport when you reciprocate by learning how to speak Italian. Italy also trades with many countries, including the US. The pasta is exceptional and in high demand across the world.
Ceramics, marble and jewelry are not just items to admire in the museum. They are part of the number of goods imported from Italy. If the information about the product is written in Italian, you can find for yourself what is being said, rather than depending on someone else interpreting or explaining the data. It is easy to see that Italian is a good language to know.
